THE WATER BIRTH

Birth, the result of endless bearings a mother could endure during her pregnancy. She draws herself from the sufferings of pregnancy when she gloriously witnesses the eternal love for the soul she has just revealed in the birth form. This soul is free from fear, remorse, worries, and all the earthly impurities and is masterly portrayed in a CHILD by the Greatest.

You are all well known for delivery types that are practiced commonly everywhere in the world. These are by normal delivery (vaginal delivery) or by cesarean section (only when vaginal delivery isn't possible)Vaginal delivery is the most common type as it is a natural way for delivery and the safest one too.

Childbirth is the second most painful medical condition known, a kidney stone is in the first place. To overcome the labor pain number of methods can help such as pain killers and relaxation techniques.

Water births are not recommended to the pregnant ladies who have cesarean sections history or having preterm (birth occurring before anticipated delivery time usually before 37 weeks of pregnancy)

WATER BIRTH

Some of you may be not known to water birth delivery.
Water Birth is actually a delivery where a pregnant lady gives birth in a pool called a birthing pool (similar to a bathtub).

Benefits Of Water Birth

  • During water birth, women feel more relaxed and less painful.
  • It lowers the risk of cross-contamination (transfer of microorganisms from one object to another).
  • It lowers the risk of vaginal tears during birth, being one of the complications of normal delivery on land/bed.
  • Provides access to a woman to attain multiple postures.
  • Could be an option in an emergency when not possible to rush to the hospital or in the absence of a mid-wife.

Precautionary Measures

  • Prevention of cross-contamination by wearing sterilized hand covers up to the shoulders.
  • Maintenance of birthing pool temperature between  97 and 100° F
  • Water Birth should be assisted by a skilled health care provider if not an emergency.
  • Water

DEBATE

Due to lack of proper scientific evidence; ACOG (American College Of Obstetrician And Gynecologist) recommends that birth should occur on land, not in water. However, ACOG agrees that the early stages of labor in a birthing pool may offer some advantages to pregnant women.
Critics also don't recommend it because the risk of baby drowning is more and babies can come by infections. Defending the risk of drowning the vindicators' support 'Dive Reflex'. A reflex when water touching the inner area of the (nasal and paranasal mucosa) the babies naturally hold their breath hence getting enough time to pull out the baby from the water

Hospitals don't prefer to practice water birth as it needs to be scrutinized keenly by science. Although under medical supervision, water birth could be a better option in an emergency at home for those women who are healthy.
